The end of the world was hard enough without a brainless feathery asshole beating on you and honking like a madman.
Will was scrambling around the assortment of newly-appeared technology in his cluttered garage, trying desperately to fumble with pre-punched cards and weird crystal things and he honestly had no idea what was going on. He locked his family upstairs so they'd stop interrupting while he was trying to save all of them.
"Hup!" he shouted as he swung the flat end of his axe over his head and released some glowing purple thing that floated around ominously. just that instant, his arch rival burst through the window. His grandmother's goose.
With a furious honk it launched itself at him, clamping him on the leg and flapping its wings. Strife!
Will swung the axe around and clobbered the bird upside the head. It immediately absconded straight into the purple hologram. A blinding light flooded the garage and when Will looked back up he saw a shitty 2D hologram of a goose floating there.
"Whatever." he said, returning his axe to his strife deck. He looked at the pre punched card in his hand and returned to the alchimiter wedged in the corner. He slipped the card into the slot and a purple tree sprouted. Looking back at the timer on the cruxtruder, he saw it had less than a minute left.
Nothing spawned from the tree, no fruit or anything that the first player to enter said they had to destroy to enter. Will began to panic, standing there with his axe and waiting for something to allow him to enter.
Suddenly an idea forced itself into his head. 'use the choppy stick, boy'. He looked down at his axe and face palmed, well that was an obvious thing he missed for some reason.
Hefting his axe, he swung and it cleaved into the tree like it was butter. A tugging sensation pulled on his gut, and the whole world turned black and started spinning.
He was in the game.

Week One
Tobias and Elsa were dead. They hadn't heard from either of them in seven days, exactly one week since they had completed the entry chain and all twenty of them had made it in. Will presumed they were overwhelmed in the massive influx of underlings spawning in their houses and failed to make it to their gate.
Kids and fun.
His land was shrouded in fog, but it seemed to retreat from him as he approached it, making it very useful for carving out paths. Wherever he walked through it, it would dissipate for hours before coming back. Will hadn't met up with his server player yet, and his client player hadn't come to his land yet. They were still taking time for solo exploration before linking up. Well, except for a few inseparable pairs. Will wasn't really that close to anyone.
The upper hemisphere of his Land was populated by purple alligators who hailed him as their savior. He'd been helping out and listening to their advice, but tried to keep his distance. Those snouts looked pretty snappy. His sisters liked playing with them. Well, before they went missing.
Escaping the Atomyck Ebonpyre with two girls less than five years old was not easy. Will's father, seemingly unphased by having his house teleported to a video game world, started blasting apart underlings with his shotgun as Will fought up his rapidly-expanding house to reach the gate.
Their dog, Howard, who had taken up the role as Will's Sprite, was fighting them off with weird lazer blasts as he dragged his sisters and stepmother up the shambling stairs that were hastily built by his server player. Eventually, they reached the gate just as they were about to be overwhelmed. Will's father pushed them all through and got grabbed before he could make it in.
Kids and fun.
When the portal had spit Will out at some random spot on his land, he was alone. He wandered aimlessly through the fog, calling out for his sisters or stepmother or even his Sprite-dog, but he didn't see anyone until he bumped into a scaly purple consort. It told him that it didn't know where the "mighty hero's entourage" had been taken, but it surely must have been the work of the Denizen.
Will followed the consort to it's village and learned more about his quest. He was sent to a nearby dungeon to retrieve the village's highly-prized Pillar of Strength. The slab covering the entrance to the dungeon was blank, but it disappears as soon as Will touched it. He made his way through, being challenged only by some Imps that he attacked a little too passionately. At the end of the dungeon, there was a door that had to be activated by a puzzle. The puzzle was one of his sister's animal matching sets, which struck him as a little strange. "This must be the tutorial dungeon." Will mused aloud.
After the door had opened, he was left facing an underling that looked like an elongated cat-lizard with goose wings, but most of the Underlings on his land had those. The Underling was called a Basilisk and spat fire at him. Will rolled behind a pillar to avoid the fire and vaulted over it, launching himself at the Basilisk. He was knocked Axe over teakettle and barely scrambled out of the way of it's claws. When he came back for another swing he landed a blow on its neck. He followed up by switching to Shotgunkind and shoved the barrel in its mouth and blasted it into grist.
Panting, he took a look at the pillar holding the Pillar of Strength. "Oh, what in the fresh fuck am I looking at?" Sitting on the pillar was the Participation Trophy he got from third grade football. He picked up the shitty statue and suddenly felt like he'd been smacked over the head with a hammer. Damn, it was like an influx of understanding washed over him. He suddenly understood slightly more about himself and his Role.
Or something like that. Right now he was just irritated that he went through all that for some random trophy he got in 3rd grade. How did those purple assholes get it anyways? He returned to the village and was rewarded with Boondollars and getting to keep his statue. The consorts gave him very cryptic advice to alchemizing the statue.
He set off to return home, exhausted.

Week One
His house was blissfully empty when he was dumped unceremoniously from the return node. It landed him at the very top of his house, right near the gate. He sat up, rubbing his head from the fall and noticed his dad's shotgun laying on the ground in front of him. He looked around, seeing inky blood and scattered grist at the top of the house. He allocated the shotgun to his strife deck and replaced his old one with it. There was no other trace of him anywhere, no blood or ripped clothes or footprints.
"He's not here."
Will whipped around and was face-to-face with his floating goosedog of a Sprite. He sighed. "Where have you been, Howard? I've been wandering around for hours. Could have used some mythical advice."
His dog whined. "Sorry, but I have to make this quick, the longer I spend with you the less time I have. I'm here to tell you that you're destined to become a great hero, and that you need to adventure through The Medium with your coplayers to reach Skaia!"
Will blinked. "Um. The Medium is where we are now?"
"Yes, but more broadly you are in what is called the Incisisphere, and in the middle of the Incisisphere is a dormant crucible of unlimited power and potential that the kingdoms of Light and Darkness are battling over. Your quest is to usurp the balance of the game in order to win before the kingdom of Darkness destroys Skaia by starting the Reckoning!" Howard flapped her (yes, Howard is a she, it's a long story) newfound wings and barked excitedly. "And I'm afraid the other humans, the yippy children and my first owner, have been apprehended by these forces of darkness!"
Will folded his arms. "So they're okay?" He looked off the side into the fog that shrouded his land. "I need to find them."
Howardsprite wagged her tail approvingly. "But there are much more important tasks at hand for your journey. You must join your friends and embark on a journey of growth and personal development, and come to realize your great and terrible powers as the Prince of Nothing!" The dog yawned. "I'm afraid I must be leaving you now, Will. You will learn more in your dreams, just ask to see the Dark Queen!" With that, she took off towards the skies, flapping her ghostly goose wings.
Will took his trophy out of his fetch modus and frowned. What a piece of junk. Gold colored plastic football player on a marble base. But, if the alligator people wanted him to alchemize with it that's what he'd do. He made his way down to the ground floor of his house where the garage was filled with the new technology. He messed around with the machines until he produced the punched cards for his father's shotgun and the trophy. He layed them over eachother and stuck it in the slot of the Alchimiter.
Will flipped the switch and the blast of light revealed... a shitty golden shotgun. He allocated it to his strife deck and equipped it. It looked pretty much the same, except it seemed to be made out of the same awful plastic that the trophy was, with a marble pump action. He cocked it and fired it at the window Howardsprite shattered. It fired a solid glowing golden football-shaped slug off into the distance. "Okay, that is pretty cool." Will grinned to himself.
He decided he'd put off talking to his coplayers long enough. He settled down in his room with his laptop and opened Pesterchum.

Week Five
The Prince of Void was flying away from his Denizen's lair, having just accepted the terms to a deal to get him out of his crumbling session. His alchemized track shoes, complete with feathery wings that somehow were able to lift him, directed him towards his Quest Bed.
To be honest, he had no idea how he was going to manage to take his planet through the Furthest Ring. He wasn't sure how he would get himself through the Ring. He knew he had to reach out to the Horrorterror that was the host of the Replayer Forums that he was seeking help on, but he was putting that off.
The framework of a plan was taking shape in his head, with the help of another player in the Replayer Chain under the handle wizardlyLuminary. He believed his name was Mica? Mica had reached out and offered to serve as the life preserver Will would fling himself towards.
Together, and with the help of a hopefully benevolent Other, they'd work to create a Void-link between their session that Will would break his way through, using the raw power his ARC was providing. After all, he was ushering the destructive end of his session using Void.
All he had to do first was find a way to god tier. And he had just the plan to do that.
Having been the only person in his session to read the SBURB Faq, he was the only one who knew about the process of Ascension. The rest of his party had stagnated in their quests and never learned about the potential for godhood. This made it hard, because he had to get one of them to kill him without realizing what he was trying to do.
Luckily, he knew just the person for the job.
As he flew, he contacted his session's Seer of Mind.
Will landed on the top of his Quest Bed and waited. The dark blue slab of rock was drawing him to it, and he had to strongest urge to lay down. He compromised and sat cross-legged, waiting for the misguided Seer to appear. He drew his axe from his strifedeck. It was dark and the shadows seemed to cling to it. It was shaped like a medieval era executioners axe and it was called [Find Peace], a name that was kind of ironic considering he was planning on dying right there.
He saw the glow through the fog before he saw the host of the corruption. The Seer of Mind emerged from the mist, a faint ring around his head and two large wings sprouting from his back. Will stood, facing down the Angel corrupted shell of Zach.
"I Will Purge You Of The Darkness." He declared, his voice sounding layered and not his own. Will said nothing but raised his axe. He knew that when Nyx told him to godtier that his high ARC, and her blessing, would allow him to temporarily access powers he shouldn't have until the late god-tiers and completion of certain quests. This was all part of the plan that would allow him the raw power to escape his session.
So he knew he had to take the hit.
Zach withdrew a large hammer that featured spraypaint cans instead of a bludgeon, and when Will parried the strike the cans sprayed him with the noxious aerosol. Will faltered and the Seer brought the hammer up into his gut. Will felt his ribs crack and fell flat on his Quest bed, winded. He looked up and saw the hammer flying straight for his head. He resisted his urge to block the strike and closed his eyes, waiting for the blow.
The spraypaint-hammer came down on his head and the aerosol can exploded from the pressure.
Will sat up suddenly, clutching his head. He was in his room on Derse, and he felt tingling all over his body. He looked out his window and saw the dreamself of one of his coplayers staring at him. Suddenly, the world began to turn in on itself and everything whiteshifted around him. He felt a surge of power swelling in his chest and knew that it had worked.
He didn't know if his symbol would appear on Skaia, but surely it would make some indication that someone godtiered. The world stopped spinning around him and he emerged from the darkness, coming out of a shadow on the Quest Bed on the Battlefield. His arms were clad in dark blue forearm guards, his godhoodie was pulled around him, and his fwoofy asshole pants were fwoofy as hell.
He felt the power budding in him that wasn't quite his own, and knew it was the presence of the blessing Nyx had told him about. The power that would allow him to make it through the Void. And, the power to take revenge. He hopped up and used his newfound ability to fly, blasting away from the Battlefield and making his way back to his planet.
Zach was still standing there over his corpse. Wow, okay, that was really weird to see. It was mangled from the exploding hammer and it was him and... no, stop it. You're you, that used to be where your consciousness was. Stop it.
The Angel-corrupted killer was injured from the backfiring explosion of his weapon, and was shocked to turn around and see a floating version of the person he just killed wearing a crazy outfit and glowing black. "You Could Not Have-"
His sentence was cut off by Will's void-covered fist impacting on his jaw. He sailed straight off the Quest Bed Spire and crashed into the ground below. Will floated down there and took a look at his Health Vial. Nearly empty. Zach sat up and coughed, and Will reached out and made a squeezing motion with his hands, feeling a tug in his gut as the Blessing took over.
"I cannot permit you to exist." His voice said, and he crushed his fist together. Suddenly, the Seer of Mind seemed to fold in on himself and disappear without making a sound. He stood there for a few moments before shaking his head and flying upwards towards Derse.

"I can't believe I'm sitting here fuckdeep in ectobabies." Will mumbled aloud. He sat there staring at himself in baby form as his mind fried from comprehending the paradoxical loop that was his own birth. "God damn it, I need to get out of here and stop talking to myself."
He hit the button and the various meteorites blasted themselves Skaia-ward. He flew off towards the edge of the incisisphere.
If he had to be honest, he was terrified and more than a little sad that everyone he was leaving behind was doomed. But on the other hand, they were the reason everything fell apart. He was a little morose about the fact that he literally wiped Zach from existence, but he couldn't dwell on that now. He needed to open a hole in the borders and allow a eldritch being to whisk him and his planet away.
He stared out into the abyss and activated the device that would send his temporal location into the void. He drifted there, ignoring the pestering of his coplayers trying to ask what the hell he was doing, and waited.

The barrier between the Incisisphere and the Furthest Ring was breached, and immediately Will's skin was crawling. He felt as though he just broke something very ancient and holy, as if he smashed the face of the Mona Lisa or blew up Notre Dame.
Within moments, the swirling mass of tentacles creeped in, covering his field of vision. He felt his mind begin firing in different ways, and snapped his eyes shut to prevent the madness from creeping in. A voice forced itself in his head.
Your Ride Is Here. Hug The Humanoid Figure In Front Of You, And We Will Depart.
Will slowly opened his eyes and saw a figure that looked a lot like Fred's avatar on the forums. He focused on him, ignoring the Eldritch being behind him. Will took one last look behind him, at Skaia, and felt a pit in his stomach brewing. He was never religious, but he felt almost like he was betraying his God just to survive.
And it was worth it.
He turned and clasped the hand of the grey-skinned humanoid, and his vision went dark.
Assuming Direct Control.
