RULES
GENERAL RULES: Be kind. Be considerate. Don't actively seek out to make someone feel bad, and don't engage in OOC conflict. Remember that a characters actions do not reflect those of their player. We aim to foster a fun, creative environment here, and we hope that everyone will reinforce this in their actions and manner.
ACCOUNT RULES: This is a one character per account forum. That means that for every new character that you wish to create, you must create a new account. There is no limit to the number of characters - and therefore accounts - that you may create. Account names must be done in the style of handles in homestuck: for example, ectoBiologist and turntechGodhead.
When creating an account, you must fill out all the information asked for at the bottom of the personal section, which can be found by going on to your profile and clicking edit profile. This includes a 200x300 image, an example of which can be seen on my mini-profile, your characters native classpect, a link to your characters profile and the name you would like to be referred to with when OOC. Aside from this, you must also provide a 100x100 avatar. Please provide your own avatar and don't use the default avatar/avatar maker provided by proboards, as these avatars are too big. Signatures are allowed, so long as they don't stretch the board vertically or horizontally.
ROLEPLAY RULES: Please keep OOC chat in the OOC sections and IC roleplaying in the IC sections. Roleplaying in the IC section of this site should resemble the pesterlogs shown in homestuck: the basis of this site is that it is a forum used by the characters being portrayed, after all. If you're talking to someone OOC in an IC area, make this clear by prefacing with "OOC". Please try to keep OOC talk to a minimum, as this is what the OOC areas of the board are for. All threads are open to all individuals, and we have no enforced posting order, although try not to post multiple times in a row frequently. Remember that, IC, you should talk in the same manner as your character, which could be something like this!!! or A L1TTL3 MOR3 L1K3 TH1S, depending on how your character types. While we will not enforce any kind of rules on how your character may type, remember that if people can't understand you they are less likely to roleplay with you. The following code is the best way to format your IC posts:
Also, threads may be tagged with [OPEN] or [CLOSED]. This is most likely to be seen in the LARP and Data boards, as this tagging system is required in these areas. [OPEN] in the title of a thread indicates that anyone can post in it, while [CLOSED] in the title of a thread indicates that only those that the created of the thread mentions in their initial post as having permissions may post within it. For example, if a [CLOSED] thread had "Characters: technicolourCapitalist, restlessDerivativ, forwardFate + rottenTryhard" at the beginning of it, only those characters would be allowed to post on that thread. In some cases, [CLOSED] threads may not even include a list of other characters, and this indicates that only the OP should be posting in that thread.
CHARACTER RULES: As mentioned before, you should only have one account per character, and the account's username must be your characters handle. After you have created an account for a character, you should post a profile in the Player Profiles board. This helps you and other members keep track of your character. Character creation on this site is designed to be very loose, and you are allowed to make any character you can think of, that isn't horribly offensive, although for now we request that you stick to species found within SBURB and the Homestuck comics. We hope to implement further species at a later date.
Upon creating a character, we request that you post in the character list to help keep everyone up to date on who plays who. Additionally, if you wish for your character to partake in a current session and therefore post on the sessions board, please post on the sessions list. This is recommended for all characters who may partake in a session, aka replayers. Similarly, the group list and the GUC list are worth looking at but not essential.
