You stare down at the avian-looking foe for a few moments, starting up a mental beat in your head in time to the music of the battle. One, two, three, four, one, two, three-
And the first verse begins.
With a small moment of intense concentration and a snigger, you just about manage to avoid breaking down at the actions of the energetic Flux player behind you and shift your cannon to firing position, a brief fuse fizzling down as the miniboss lunges towards you before the boom of the weapon pushes you and the enemy apart, the cannonball whacking into its face and exploding for a good chunk of its HP.
Weaving forwards and cutting down the smaller imps that get in your path to your target with your blade, you start building up waves around the Guitarsword as you continue to head towards it. You don't really know how Flux-aspected enemies work, so you're hoping to try and simply take it down as fast as you can. The hovering materials look rather ominous, and you'd rather avoid an attack from them.

"Looks like that's a canon cannon," you pun awfully as it hits. The bird hears you and decides to shoot you with the break flux it had been charging, because that pun sincerely sucked that badly and it was well aware the story meant it would definitely dent less if it aimed at the player hitting it. You sincerely regret this as a wash of metaphlogiston interrupts you and slams you into the wall. As a player of that aspect, it was more like being drowned as your aspect couldn't decide which way it wanted to go and decided to simply keep going and take you with it, which bore you to the wall with a hefty slam that blasted off over half your vial. Shiiit. Luckily, the wave did about as much if not more harm to the other enemies as it did you, leaving you in a superior position. Ow, but not lethally so for you.
The bird begins to regret wasting a charged interrupt on someone not casting, as someone who is is probably going to hit it. Oopsie.

With the dead imps pulsing out with energy and music, you continue to build up a bigger modifier, the chain reaction creating a visible shimmering of air around the blade as you notice its distraction. Presuming that your friend could handle himself, you seized the opportunity and swung the weapon forwards, a howling screech forming as the built-up sonic energy was pushed towards it. You doubted it would be enough to even get close to ending the battle, but it was definitely a good start - at least, you hoped so.

Smashed by a blast of sound that tore off a section of vitality gel, Writeup STORYBOARD or whatever the miniboss was called growled and shifted into beast form, prepared to give a serious fight.
You gave up, peeled off the wall as the metaphlogiston faded back into nowhere, and resumed shooting imps to provide more sound to be flung around. Woo.

Watching in satisfaction as the enemy flew backwards, you heard the growl and saw the shifting in appearance. Getting ready for the next stage of the fight, you tried to get some distance between it and you, firing cannonballs behind you into the messy group of imps as you did. Especially in this form, it would be good if you could keep the Flux-underling abomination at range; they tended to hurt badly with their claws.

"Looks like the boss is getting beastly kids!" you say half to your audience of squiddles billions of years older than you and half to questionably real entities of similarly comparatively huge age, switching from the imps to the boss itself and spraying it with undyne-spears to give Sam the time to gather sound from impsplosions. "And we've hit the halfway mark!"
The boss makes a sad expression as it notes its health vial has indeed hit the halfway mark as the narrative mentioned before, but toughens up after another batch of spears to the face, even if it looks like a pincushion before the spears are expended and disappear.

You give a light snort at the commentary. "And so we hit another verse." You add on, blade swishing through the nearby imps while your cannon shoots at those just out of range. You'd take your time this round, gather up enough energy for one larger shot and see if you can't try to knock the foe down.

Flashing above some imps to take them out in an exaggerated fashion with a spray from above, you cheer on your coplayer.

Using a bit of freestyling, you push the Sound you'd gathered from your buffs into your cannon, aiming the weapon at the beast-form Storyboard. You attempt to line up a shot, then fire with a booming blast, the ammunition powered up by the energy and shooting across the room.

The boss DIES from a direct hit of an overly charged and stacked attack from a combo-charged Waste (honestly, what survives that?), exploding into grist and causing the last few imps to not be replaced when they die.
"Well, that was easy." you say as you lapse back into your casual showman personality for a bit, looking at the pretty and not-technically-real signs of a revelawesome depositing a new ability. The sound miniboss waits behind a newly revealed door, but you again are going to leave that to Sam. "Kevin got Break Flux, what Sam get? og."

You blink. "...huh." You murmur, a mixture of confusion and satisfaction on your face. You hadn't quite expected that much power. Maybe being a Waste wouldn't be quite as bad as you thought if you get to do that.
Turning to face the other member of your impromptu team, you wait for the sensations to finish of your new ability. Turns out, it's one of your favorites. A small grin crosses your face. "I got Famous Last Words. Chain reaction time, hell yea." You state, restarting the music track in your head in preparation for the next boss. "Want to head over? Get through this dungeon quickly, or at least as long as it doesn't get too much harder from here." You question Kevin, gesturing to the door.

"Hell yeah!" You declare, storming through into the next room. The boss towers above you in djinn form, a regular Sound miniboss fight. Big.

Heading after him, you switch over to your more heavy-calibre arm. A larger boss called for a larger weapon, after all - hopefully it would be a bit less mobile. Now all you had to do was shield yourself from the attacks.
"Cover me for a second, Kevin. Gonna try to start this off with a bang." Holding your other hand in front of you, you use [Piano] several times to form a wavering shield. Maybe not the best defense, but with what you have...

"Here we have a shield of subtlety created by our Waste of Sound!" you announce again half to people who can see the obvious and half to people who are eldritch abominations staring through your senses to determine the obvious, shoring it up with a bunch of defensive spears hovering in the air ready to be fired at a moment's notice. Multipurpose Undynery, yay. "Brace for a bang, ladies and gentlemen!"
You wait for the other party to fire. Can't one-up if you're the one being one-upped, right?

Trying to join in on the amusing performance, you load up the rotating cannon before giving a grin. "And with the intro finished, it's time for a crescendo!" You declare, flicking the ring around with a brief jerk of your arm before letting the armament rip, shells firing out in a staccato pattern towards the towering opponent.
