Noting the weapon change and giving the Sound player a wide berth for obvious reasons, you get out of the way and release another barrage of spears, a few of which even phase through for additional damage to the point where they're making visible dents in the imp's health vial, distracting the Underling and hopefully giving Sam the time he needs. Letting the higher-rung player do the real damage might not be in an active class' best interest, but you're doing the extension yourself and complaining about it, so it won't hurt your ARC, hopefully.

With a brief pulse of pluck into the various cylinders of the gear, it filled up with a number of the shards of metal, like your previous weapon. Unlike your previous weapon, this one could keep firing. Your eye briefly brings down a reticule over the target, and you start.
Aiming the admittedly somewhat heavy weapon at the massive imp, the gear shifts forwards, loading each shard into your hand before firing it outwards in a pulse of sonic energy created from a basic Sound aspect ability, slamming into the huge underling with a loud thump. The gear shifts forwards, loading the shards continuously while your pluck can afford it, damaging the imp's armor and shattering parts of it off.

You watch in awe from a nearby barricade as UE kills the imp to death in a single barrage as a vastly higher-level player with better equipment tends to do on an earlygame Land. Then you step over and begin looting the gristsplosion pile, because you need some of that.
"Congrats on saving me a few hours!" you say gleefully. "Wanna do another? I think they tend to spawn in these big courtyards the most."

Taking a few breaths, you wait for the large brass gear to stop spinning before lowering the arm, giving a smile of satisfaction. You're slowly starting to get a hang of this whole majykk thing, even if it is taking a while. Taking a brief look at your pluck, your good mood dampens a little bit; it was quite high cost, taking about a third of your total right now. With all the grist it created, though, you'd say it was worth it. Need to improve on efficiency, though.
Looking over at PG, you wave him off. "Ah, it's all good. Sure, we can keep fighting, although I'll probably run low on pluck after two or three more; still not high enough leveled to spam something like that." You call over, storing the weapon away for now. It was rather heavy, after all.

"Maybe we could go for small fry quests?" you suggest. "There's a few pieces of dungeon questing back at that village I could probably use some help keeping difficulty down on before I trigger the big red line."

Floating down over to him, you reply with a nod. "Sounds good to me." You answer, taking a brief look around the area. "It'll be useful to farm up some grist to make some new weapons, and some levels for... well, it's pretty obvious what for." Your voice trails off a little at the end, slightly awkwardly.

"This way to the egress!" you declare accordingly, gesturing back the way you came and practically bouncing off the floor.
Looks like somechannel wants to make this an active/active UU blast.

Rolling your eyes good-naturedly, you follow after PG, pinging the surroundings with your sensory abilities a few times as you go. The music of the session was so much thicker now, and it sounded a bit odd with two chains in a single area, which was making it a bit more difficult than usual to piece apart. Luckily, you were experienced enough that it wasn't too much of an issue, but it still meant you had to actually pay attention to it all at lower levels.
Hearing nothing in particular for the local area, you continue heading in the pointed direction as you flick off the boots and land beside him.

You reach the village without comment from anywhispering, rushing down the consort elder in his little stone house.
As the elder begins reciting his scripted scriptures, the details of the quest emerge. Some boring dungeon to be cleared with nothing special about it besides being a 2P dungeon that'd be available at baseline rep.
"Sounds good." You say. "Waste of Sound, you up for it?"

Leaning on the wall at the corner of the room, you reply with a nod and a mumbled "sure" before pushing off, turning to exit the hut. You headed back outside into the labyrinthine world, and waited for PG to take the lead - you didn't exactly know your way around the place.

Leading along because you could, you charged over and around the mostly unoccupied buildings your Denizen had dumped all over the place, until you found the one rendered in traditional Sburban style. Yup, this was it. Once your coplayer caught up, the spirograph glowed and the damn thing opened. The generation was special for this one: rather than the usual menagerie of puzzles and fighting, it'd just be three boss chambers in their own little kill-X-enemies-to-proceed rooms, the core pieces of 3 dungeons written on top of each other. Writeup STORYBOARD for Flux, Audiojack MUSESCORE for Sound, and a third somewhat nontraditional boss courtesy of Nabu himself (why denizen why), Melodiarch COMPOSIT.
Well, that was the important bits of the nasty long textwall greeting you on the inside, signed in garish cuneiform. The door to the next room waited.

"Well... this looks like an interesting design." You murmur, not to anyone in particular. In theory, you should have about enough pluck to deal with all the enemies that lay within, but you might need to tone it back a little on the artillery-like weapons. Instead, you withdraw a more traditional duo of weapons; your arm is replaced with a medieval-looking cannonarm, while you hold JB's GuitarSword in your other hand. "You wanna take lead, or should I do the honours, Master Kevin?" You question, in as best of a posh voice as you can make in your drawling tone.

You give a light snort at the meanings behind the action. "Yea, yea, I get it." Moving up to the vaguely imposing door, you push forwards with the side of your Cannonarm, sliding the rocky surface to the side as the room is opened up. Cautiously looking around, you walk in.

The STRIFE! indicator pops up as the djinn miniboss roars out of the floor and appears, immediately going bird and attracting metaphlogiston from the atmosphere, turning it shiny with pseudo-gallium as it prepares to break some flux. Then a bunch of imps start popping out of nowhere. You go off shooting imps with spears, leaving the boss up to your coplayer because you're pretty sure it's like their job to handle big stuff like that, you're just building the story with your personal asskicking, all the while going full Undyne on the imps and stepping around like you're not sure where you should be standing, of course. Seeing as you are the Flux player, you decide to narrate for bonus points. A little showmanship won't hurt your ratings, right?
"Ladies, gentlemen, and assorted Others!" you declare, suddenly putting on shades for no damn reason. "The mighty Writeup STORYBOARD seeks to challenge the Waste of Sound! Looks like the miniboss is in for trouble the~n!"
Then you have to flashstep to avoid getting shanked by an imp. Too close for comfort. Way too close. Unleashing a barrage of spears at the assorted underlings around you, you continue trying not to get hit and stating the obvious. "Sorry guys, looks like it's playtime for all these imps too. Hope they're welcome to die!"
What did you even just say ow. Yeah you're just going to try not to die here. A Smith is at their best when they have time, resources, and power to create after all, and right now you have none of those things, so it's all you can do to actively build your storyline.
