"I am." She smiled, heartened, validated. Then puttered out like an old-timey car, still not entirely back into breath from having been out of it. Trying to vocalize her thoughts as images had really taken the wind out of her. "No!" She panted out the remainder of her words. "I'm... fine. With just that. For now." She took a few beats of silence to marshal her oxygen supply. Rally the troops, etc. "It's much harder than the Dreaming Dead make it look. They even manage to fit in hashtags after the fact." Not to mention being able to speak in .gif format!
With this lull in the proceedings Annalise suddenly wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel. Triumphant? Disappointed at her own lack of indomitable verve? Without her usual ballet on knife point she found she lacked for a clear idea of... anything concerning herself, really. The taste of Mist and Flux down the wrong pipe. She was supposed to dislike Mist, right? It was kinda sweet, like coconut water. Refreshing. She couldn't bring herself to gag.
"So..." Wasn't she supposed to be the Horrorterror fangirl? "...Sign any good Deals lately?"

"Spoileriffically, yes. In the future, guaranteed by reliable prophecy and also relative futures and relative pasts."
The Gatekeeper waves off some memory. "The fun part is I'm going to get a new plaything in a relative point, and it'll be fun. Most likely get a storm of angels to the collective face for it, but I've got plans within plans and contingencies for the contingencies. Best to let some friends know simply killing someone doesn't stop them these days."
He chuckles uncertainly about the future. It is what it is, and that's the disturbing part that comes with knowing 'something will come to pass'.

Annalise nodded, slowly, deliberately. She still wasn't entirely sure how she was supposed to be responding? Everything Fred had said was supremely ominous, but that was probably supposed to a good thing in terms of her usual act. Plaything. It could refer to anything, anyone. Even herself.
"I assume you're not allowed to give details any more specific than that?" She tried to laugh haughtily, the sound got caught in her throat. More of a nervous little giggle now, one her carefully caked on gothic makeup didn't pass off as it's own offspring that well. "If you're anticipating your future death I assume something dramatic is about to come over the horizon." Well wasn't that the understatement of the century? Or was it, really? Others were Others, after all. Even the concept of an 'ending' didn't so neatly apply to them. If Annalise recalled she'd written that much in her own words, at some point in the distant past.
"It is curious, indeed." Some inkling of intuition came to her. "I've always wondered why you singled out that one small forum, Sburb Unofficial. It's just a paltry little shadow of bits and pieces of the Sburb.Org community. Unless you need to know those people specifically for a reason."

"Entertainment." he says complacently, "When the pieces have fewer people saying 'don't do it', missteps are easy. I've been planning to start a collection, and the shadows are where oddities don't become celebrities before they get plucked. As a matter of fact, I'm probably going to bow out soon and let Lillian be the maestra of the hunt, I'm distributed enough to be a fall guy. I'm beginning to suspect I'm being played by a higher circle of services, but perhaps Uogne or the Rosy King are honest and this really is an excuse to flaunt the updates to Ring Security."
He shrugs.

Months in the future, but not many...
The Corrupter surveyed her handiwork. A beautiful curvature of space to encircle and direct barricades, walls, ideas...and towers. A fortress in a bubble. Flying landmines, bunnies by the boatload...a truly excessive show of magical bullshit force. A pity she was just going to rainbow through half of it and the other half was irrelevant, but the idea of defending a castle...If she was going to make it look like she was fighting even harder than she was...well, that would work.
But would Fred say yes? Or say no? The Gatekeeper was madly in love, but to sacrifice himself and be torn away from a loved one if that path came to pass? Unacceptable. Perhaps if she just fought them to a standstill, they could switch roles rather than cause horrorterror 9/11...or...maybe...Hm.
She was unsure what to think, letting her thoughts slip into the narrative more willfully than she would let on. Someone read this, someone hope...Hrm. Futures.
Memories of other worlds shifted about her. The bubble was still a bubble after all, even with all this real matter and real energy pumped into it. She let slip rainbows and fog, unfettered creativity coupled with an overflow of existence. She would keep building. This citadel would not fall until she was forced.

Well, Mica had certainly had an interesting day. First he'd gotten killed, his health vial below zero with no one around to kiss revive him, and in any other game that would mean he was done and gone, but the Doom aspect had other plans. Being a zombie was unsettling, but fortunately it didn't really seem to come with any effects except a lack of pain. Still, he didn't know if a zombified self worked the same as a normal one, and had no idea what would happen if he went to sleep or his health dipped below zero again, so he didn't want to stay that way for very long.
A longish flight to his previously spotted quest bed was all it took to solve the problem, and he collapsed as soon as he laid a hand on the slab of green bedrock. There was the typical Skaian light show and a big flashy Doom ideograil, and next thing he knew, he was waking up on the Battlefield in a green and black outfit with... dog ears on the hood? Jeez, with this on top of the talk about making him wear a collar and SC's remark about how he was going to be Fred's "pet," it seemed like paradox space was conspiring something.
Other than the conditional immortality and unaided flight, though, the most significant difference he'd be facing now that he'd godtiered would be dreaming in the bubbles instead of on Derse. He'd never spent much time in the bubbles, having only godtiered twice and closer to the ends of both sessions, and there'd never really been anything for him to do since he wasn't comfortable meeting a bunch of stranger ghosts; now, he actually had something to look forward to at the end of his first day as godtier.
He blinked and looked around. Waking up in the bubbles was very different from waking up normally, with no grogginess or bed to get out of. He'd been thinking about Fred and his forum posts and such as he fell asleep, hoping it would work to get him where he wanted to be. The memories filling the bubble certainly didn't look like anything he recognized. He started looking around, hoping to find something or someone familiar.

"Surprise!" a small gaggle of white-eyed dead Julies said from behind him, though hopefully unsurprisingly enough not to wake him up.
One of Lillian's nearby bodies facepalmed hard enough that a few headaches and hazes composing her vibrated into different colors, though the large landmine she had been directing a telekinetic ghost into hanging remained fine, as the ghost had been warned about something like that happening every time somebody showed up.
"Omigoshomigoshomigosh you're here!" one of Fred's servitor-bodies said excitedly, popping up out from behind a random memory pile of double-mouthed sabercat lusii that had been created by the unfortunate occurrence of several ghost Agnesses arguing about which way they killed all their coplayers was cooler nearby.
From the same catpile rolled out a bored Mettaton avertedCrisis cosplay drone, who took one look, giggled, and rolled back behind the catpile.
"FINALLY!" a random dead troll dude shouted from some other place, chugging down a disturbingly green drink. "Someone ALIVE around here!"
Mica's entrance so acknowledged, the various dead, robots, and dead people inside of robots went back to doing nothing relevant, leaving a living god asleep, a god awake, and a goddess intent on making the most impressive fort she could possibly cram in a bubble in general proximity.
"Uh...hi." the Gatekeeper said awkwardly, his avatar scratching the back of his own head in a surprisingly human display of 'ohgodwhatdoIdoIamsonervous'. "Welcome to my place."

"Gah!" Mica jumped at the sudden, synchronized shouts behind him, whirling around. ...God, that was a disturbing sight. As if one Julie wasn't bad enough. Not to mention the creepy white eyes. "Jesus, Julie, are you trying to give me a heart attack so that I'm forced to wake back up again?" he grumbled. He saw a figure facepalming and glanced over; judging from her strange appearance, he was guessing that was Lillian. He gave her a wave, but was quickly distracted again before he could say anything to her.
The grey skin, and that much excitement... That had to be Fred, right? Or at least one of his servitor bodies. Mica suddenly realized that he was anxious; he was in a bubble maintained by an Other, containing a goddess and a bunch of dead copies of the sessionmate that wanted to cannibalize him, after all; plus, he was meeting the person (being?) that he was going to be working for (it sounded much nicer to put it that way than "belong to") at some point in the future.
"Hi," he said, smiling a little nervously up at Fred and fidgeting with the hem of his godtier outfit. "So, um... You're HT, then?" he asked. "I, uh, like your bubble and everything."

"Aww, thanks." the Gatekeeper said, with that internal 'ohgodwhatdoIdo'. "Uh...nice godtier outfit. I like the ears." Lillian muttered an image somewhere in the background, deigning that this situation was hilarious (and also that a certain outfit reference was ill-timed). The Julie herd relocated in a less plot-relevant direction in hopes of evading scrutiny.

"Thanks," Mica said shyly, touching the dog ears adorning his hood. "They're--they're kind of silly, but it's not like it's the worst godtier outfit I've had. I, uh... I like your... servitor? That's what this is called, right?" Haha, wow he had no idea what to do here. "So um, is there anything to do here? I haven't spent much time in the bubbles, especially not with anyone I know..."

"Yeah, that's it." Fred says, the piece of himself momentarily looking down at himself and wondering how the hell human languages were so bad at defining different selves and their self-interaction. "It's really just a sort of slow party with the dead. The fun part is that there isn't really anything to do but relax and have some fun without a big heroic objective sitting around for once in hell. Wanna go fly around and play with the dead?"
He shrugs, not sure where he was going with this.
Lillian facepalmed into a new set of colors and floated off in the direction of a snake pit holding several memory-constructs of denizens, presumably trying to figure out how to put the memory-collections in a useful form.

"Um... I don't know about 'playing with the dead'. That sounds kind of creepy. Plus I doubt we'd find anyone I know, and I don't really want to make friends with people who're already ghosts..." Mica rubbed his arm awkwardly. "I mean, I... Mostly just came here to hang out with you, so, um... I dunno. ...I think you mentioned having tea, once?"

"Well, that works." Fred said simply, relieved at having something to do. "Anise seed fine?"
The memoryscene shifted to Rosy Operator's bar, the gold interior naturally a more toned-down wooden brown than Prospit's usual eye-searing bright. A pair of quite real pre-prepared cups of the aforementioned tea, warm but not undrinkably so, clacked back into existence quietly courtesy of a pair of abstraction tentacles in a nearby fairly private booth.
A few memories of carapaces set the scene, a few nearby dead shrugging and enjoying repeats of old favorites.

"Yes, that sounds--oh!" Mica said, getting distracted by the sudden shift in surroundings. He'd never been to RO's bar, having only spent one session on Prospit, but it was a really nice looking place. The tentacles caught his eye, and he watched interestedly as they distributed a couple cups of tea. "This is really lovely," he said, sliding into one of the booth's seats. He picked up his cup and blew on it for a moment before taking a sip. It was surprisingly good for something from an Other's dreambubble. "That makes me wonder, do Others need to eat or drink? Or is it just something your servitors can do for fun?" he asked.

Taking the other seat, Fred's servitor took a sip of his own, relaxing in a moment of familiarity.
"Eh, it's just a for-fun thing for most of us at this point. Thank reality for sustenance majjyks being a core part of immortal energies."
He shrugs.
"It's something to do. Infinity stretches on with no end in sight, and taste is a sensation worth keeping."
Thus the Gatekeeper takes another sip.
