TENTACLES IN SPACE THE OTHERS: Also known as "horrorterrors", the "infinite void" and "oh my God what is THAT". They are ridiculous diverse beings, with their own wants and desires that lead them in their actions. Some are better than others. Little is known about their hierarchy - only that it can be divided into the leading Noble Circle of Horror Terrors, the secondary Middling Gods, the tertiary Smaller Gods, and then the most common Grim Court. It is believed that this is a very lose chain of command which they are rarely compelled to follow. The Others may be found in the Furthest Ring, and generally try to make deals with players - deals which, under dire circumstances, may even turn out to be a good idea.
NOTABLE OTHERS: [offline]
OTHER CORRUPTION: The Others are more passive with their corruption than their "counter-parts", the Angels. The Others whisper to players - more often to Derse dreamers, who are closer to the Further Ring than Prospit dreamers - and then they wait for the players to come to them. Full corruption typically occurs as a result of a deal, which the Others will constantly seek to make with all who make contact with them, but consistently being around the Others will also result in corruption. Generally, Other corruption relies on the players going to the Others.
CORRUPTION MANIFESTATION: At low levels, clouds your decision making abilities and makes you resistant to the idea that you are corrupted. At high levels, you become a Speaker for the Others and present a threat to everyone around you, gaining massive boosts to all stats. High levels of corruption manifest in text form as LOUD, DARK COLOURED TEXT THAT OFTEN SPEAKS OF THE END OF DAYS (#c009aa). Players with Other corruption are often said to have "gone grimdark", and gain pitch black skin and sheet white hair, as well as having an area of black tentacles.
GRIMDARK ABILITIES: While the Others are not a natural part of SBURB, the players are. As such, players gain game abilities from going Grimdark. The following are notable Grimdark abilities. [Eldertongues]: Players become fluent in the Broodfester Tongues. [Call of the Haunted]: Players are able to distantly view Dream Bubbles, an ability on par with the end game scrying abilities of a Seer.

CONSIDER SINGING LESSONS THE ANGELS: Also known as "hosts", the "infinite choir" and "PLEASE don't come near me". The Angels are a hivemind race, all working together with the single goal of spreading burning 'love' around. They refer to this as the Salvation. Angels can be found in the Underworld of every land, until they are cleared out by game progression. They turn hostile if you break 'The Law' while there, which is complex and vague.
NOTABLE ANGELS: [offline]
ANGEL CORRUPTION: The Angels are more aggressive with their corruption that the Others. Angels swoop down towards the ground and shriek, as if they're looking for you. The only really effective way to avoid this is to hide. Players with a high level of corruption will hear this shrieking as increasingly beautiful songs. Generally, Angel corruption relies on the Angels going to the players.
CORRUPTION MANIFESTATION: At low levels, clouds your decision making abilities and make syou resistant to the idea that you are corrupted. At high levels, you become a Singer for the Choir and present a threat to everyone around you, gaining massive boosts to all stats. high levels of corruption manifest in text form as gentle, light coloured text that often whispers of the greater good (#d4d4d4). Players with Angel corruption are often said to have "gone noblebright", and gain sheet white skin and pitch black hair, as well as having a glowing halo.
NOBLEBRIGHT ABILITIES: While the Angels are not a natural part of SBURB, the players are. As such, players gain game abilities from going Noblebright. The following are notable Noblebright abilities. [Choral Worship]: Players become fluent in hivechoir tongues. [Holy Judgement]: The basic attack used by Noblebright players - white energy seems to leak off of the player and spread around them in a dangerous aura that can be solidified at will.

NOT FOR GENERAL CONSUMPTION SACCHARINE DOPPELGANGERS: Little is known about the Saccharine Doppelganger. They occur as a result of an alchemization glitch - what exactly causes this glitch is unknown, but it is believed to have something to do with sprite pendants. Saccharine Doppelganger's adopt the visage of the player nearest to the glitch when it forms, and are capable of doing everything that that player can do, including achieving god-tier. There are distinctive differences in terms of appearance between a Doppelganger and their original: Doppelgangers are brightly coloured, have a distinctive dessert item on their head and cannot stop smiling. They're literally incapable of frowning. It is believed that they aim to steal the sprite pendant on the player they have stolen the form of, and by doing so assuming their role within the session. As such, players with a Doppelganger are in far worse danger than their coplayers and should never be left alone.
KILLING A DOPPELGANGER: They are notoriously hard to kill, and can often only be defeated by multiple high level players at once. It is reported that they don't show signs of pain, and that they bleed syrup upon being wounded. Unconventional methods are typically required to kill them, seen as the loss of multiple limbs is "but a scratch" to them. Such methods include: complete immersion in magma or acid, rapid aging or deaging, total incineration, deep freezing and then smashing the ice cube, vaporization, disintergration, and launching it into the Furthest Ring to be eaten by the Others. There is an age old saying amongst SBURB veterans: "if it seems like total over-kill, it's probably just enough to kill a Saccharine Doppelganger".
TRICKSTER MODE: While the game treats this as an easter egg, it is widely viewed as corruption by the community, earning Saccharine Doppelganger's their place in corruption lore for their ability to do this. Saccharine Doppelganger's can produce an array of candy, from their syrupy blood to the spiral sucker's that they often offer to players when not trying to kill them. Consuming any of these candies will trigger Trickster Mode, a dangerous so-called 'power up' that will cause normal players to appear to turn into Saccharine Doppelgangers - the primary difference being that they are not indestructible, and most definitely still bleed regular blood. While in Trickster Mode, players will act overly happy and as though they are indestructible, often resulting in their own demise if they are not freed from the 'power up' quickly.
TRICKSTER MODE ABILITIES: While Trickster Mode does not make a player invulnerable, it does provide them with some abilities, as can be seen with other types of corruption. Oops. 'Power ups'. Slip of the tongue. [Candyman]: Allows the player to summon candy out of thin air. It's not even special candy. It's literally just candy.

HUGS AND FRIENDSHIP STOPPING CORRUPTION: Hugs from a non-corrupt player can often be a very effective manner of healing corruption, particularly if that player is close to the corrupted individual. Additionally, due to the polar opposite nature of Other and Angel corruption, exposing a player corrupted by one to the other may have a drastic reversing affect on their corruption - however, this is far more dangerous than hugs, because corrupted players often become hostile upon seeing corruption of the opposite kind to their own. Players that have experienced corruption, even if it was only for a short period of time, become much more likely to be corrupted again - even seeing another player type in the tones of corruption can cause them to relapse.
STOPPING TRICKSTER MODE: This differs from standard corruption, in that either you must wait for the player to run down from what is essentially a massive sugar high, or you must get them to realise that they're being totally irrational. This is particularly hard to do, and it's recommended that you just tie the 'powered up' player down and leave them somewhere that they can't hurt themselves or others.
