Credit to JOY by Kamila Kavita/equalitySaurus and grasshopperFarmer for providing an excellent introduction to some core concepts of Joy in application and a Joy guide by restlessDerivativ for a more conceptual-lifestyle perspective, as well as the ever-essential Sburb Glitch FAQ by GGTG for the idea of the aspect guide, as well as the dots, and of course the Sburb Etiquette FAQ by gentlemanMannerism for providing manners frameworks for when acting with conventional restraint is borderline impossible if you want your ARC high enough during the earlygame to minimize the risk of earlygame death.

Whisperings: The Laughtrack
Read those. Then once you have finished, look here. equalitySaurus did a good job, but her work is...elementary at best in certain spots. Ms. Kavita was both a combat class and not completely through her session, both of which tend to not give a strong sense of an aspect's more shenanigans qualities. restlessDerivativ seems to be a bit too brief, and while Sburb is a personally tailored experience of brainwashing when it is not a glitchy clusterfuck hellbent on our annihilation, a little bit more detail and core concepts of the aspect that are shared between whispering variances could help. My version of Joy also had slightly more offensive power than that excellent dinosaur describes, though version drift and perhaps a closer alignment to Life may have provided more 'firepower' in the conventional sense in my run, and she appears to be relying more on mid-earlygame manipulative/offensives that didn't have directly destructive power than actively willing forth the wrath of Joy with intent to harm through organic means, so of course the Laughtrack isn't gonna do what she don't want.
In general, they've got the important information you need to embody it (after all, the aspect of 'do as you like' is one meant for doing as one likes), but there are deeper elements that are not explored despite relative availability. Julie and other believers of Aspect Composition Theory believe that Joy is a combination of Life, Light, and possibly a few other assorted ideas (Fate maybe? Mind is making seeing alternatives a little easier right now), seeing as it contains many elements of both (positive feelings, having things go your way, a degree of radiance, and restorative components, as well as following what living instinct says is going to end up good on some level logic be damned), and to a great extent I can see where that comes from, as Joy is a very strong support aspect at slight cost to its direct externalization and imbuing capabilities, often preferring to combine externalization and imbuing as one to provide a more effective attachment (read: imbuing stuff with enough Joy tends to make it sprout flowers if not done specifically wanting and/or focusing on the more mental elements). Let's start with the basics of the advanced: Joy is a support aspect and is best played as such.
You have nearly unparalleled psybuffs that actually work as psychological handling buffs once you've really embraced being able to do as you like, and a good Joy player can hold trauma at bay with the power of floral brainwashing. If you really want to make it clear to the world that you will be happy Skaia's lies be damned, flowers in your hair gets the message across. While not quite Stars being able to fill you with acceptance and allowing you to tolerate the murderous deathgame at a vastly accelerated rate, rather than just destroying or burying emotions for them to be dealt with at a better time through mundane means as some aspects with less direct psychological elements prefer, Joy helps you along as a sort of internal emotional weapon capable of giving you a lot more strength and happiness to put up with the fact your homeworld's destroyed, your family's dead, you will never win, and even when you die you will never see them again, and that's just something that happened and the fallen are mourned, don't forget but in the end overly caring about that won't do a thing to bring them back, and morally repugnant and however damaging or not in the long term it may be, you just gotta move on and live, because you can still be happy even if bad things happened. So what if you've failed so hard you've got the concept of Joy saying 'there there it'll get better come on step up and live a little do what you want not what you can't'? You're stuck in a deathgame and there's nothing you can do about it, and Joy is more or less right. It would be pleasant to fix that but that's the one desire that can't really be granted with the miracles we have, so let's keep going then. God, I love the way Joy made me feel and I want that again. It's like an addiction. Joy is acting upon your desires, and if you want your or someone else's depression to end, holy shit is the Laughtrack going to fill you or them with happiness like that Kevin kid Agasti keeps blabbing about in an attempt to enact that desire.
Beyond psychological support, the other long-ranged and tool aspects of Joy are surprisingly fluid, though this is more of a tendency expressed in freestyling rather than a conventional ability predisposition besides the feels powers. You know how Fate is do it with arrows? Joy is do it with flowers. Joy flowers are capable of expressing all sorts of useful skills like scrying, moving you around, delivering commands or not-that-Joy-y-stuff, the works. Heart overrides your emotions by providing direction to your soul. Rage overrides your emotions by just overriding them. Joy? Joy overrides your emotions by putting you on drugs. Shit's rain-tier, man.
Aaand this consort wants me to help teach their kids the value of being able to make decisions. Excuse me, I'll have to write more later.
